Planning to ask "the question" is already nerve-wracking, and finding the perfect location only adds to that. Antigua is the perfect place to ask that special someone to marry you. Endless beautiful beaches and sites offer countless opportunities.

Above all

Looking for a location with a view from above and beyond? There are a few hills and vantage points that offer the perfect sites for a proposal.
Fort Barrington Antigua

Fort Barrington

Fort Barrington was built in the 1700s by the previous British rule. It sits at a top of a hill that allows you to see a 360 view of Antigua and the Caribbean Sea. If you are looking for an outdoor adventure, we recommend taking an early morning hike, then cooling off at Deep Bay Beach.

Tip : Fort Barrington is a tourist destination, so if you want peace and quiet, the best time to propose is in the early mornings.

Shirley Heights Antigua

Shirley Heights

Shirley Heights was another Fort that was built to protect against the French. Now it is one of the most beautiful spots on the island. Unlike the other forts around the island, you can park your car at the top of the hill. On this side of the island, you will find your occasional sail ship -white against the deep blue of the ocean.

Tip: Because of its height, Shirley Heights has more wind than other parts of the island, so stay away from the edges. Again, it is a popular tourist destination, so if you want more privacy, try aiming for the early morning hours.

Steady grounds

Not a fan of heights? There are beautiful sites that are readily available to ask the big question. So let's take a trip to steady grounds.

Nelson's Dockyard, Antigua

Nelson's Dockyard

Nelson's Dockyard is a national park located in the southern part of Antigua. It is a naval dockyard and fittingly named after Navy Officer Horatio Nelson. Nelson's Dockyard spans numerous acres and hosts Antigua's sailing week. If you are interested in historical artifacts; and learning more about Antigua, we recommend stopping by the museum, shops, and restaurants.

Tip: Take a leisurely walk through the compound to visit the museum, docked boats, and yachts. Or take a seat by the beautiful sea.

Tropical Hotel, Antigua

Your Hotel Room

With all the beautiful sites in Antigua, your hotel room may not be the first thing you think of. But, if you or your significant other is introverted, the comfort of your space is perfect! Select a hotel with a view of the ocean and create your own paradise.

Tip: Check in advance to see if your hotel offers occasion-based services, roses, fruits, sweets...if that's your thing.

To the sea and beyond

Devil's Bridge, Antigua

Devil's Bridge

Devil's Bridge is a national park located on the eastern point of Antigua. It's a 270 view of the Atlantic Ocean. You might be able to spot the occasional sailboat in the distance.

Tip: Devil's Bridge is made from limestone and doesn't offer a smooth walking surface, so stick to the grassier side. Be on the lookout for small sea life near the edges, as large water splashes often throw a few small shells and tiny crabs.

Beaches, Antigua

Beaches

You can use any public beach in Antigua and Barbuda to pop the question. Some beaches are more popular, so if you want a little privacy, avoid those more central to the capital.

Tip: Early morning and late afternoons are the perfect times to visit the beach. The beautiful colors offer beautiful photogenic opportunities. Visit a beach on the weekdays to avoid local crowds.
