Most public places in Antigua accept credit cards. But, if you prefer to use cash or in a store that doesn't accept credit cards, you have a few options for converting your country's currency to EC (Eastern Caribbean).

What kind of money does Antigua use?

Antigua and Barbuda, and six other Caribbean islands currently use EC (East Caribbean Dollars). They include Dominica, Grenada, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.

Popular tourist destinations, and restaurants in Antigua will also accept USD (United States Dollars). If you are using USD, avoid ripping or creating deep creases, as they are less likely to accept them, so be sure those bills stay crisp!

What are the exchange rates?

Currently, the exchange rate from USD to ECD is 2.70. If you would like to know how much you will be getting multiply your US amount by 2.70. $50 USD = $135 EC.

Where to convert from USD to EC?

If you are looking for a variety of banks, you should head to the capital of Antigua, St. John's. Please note hours of operation and holidays as they may affect regular opening hours.
